Gateway Bike Park is another hidden Nevada County jewel for all ages to have fun outdoors on bikes.  This park bike path area is a collaboration with Western Gateway Recreation & Park District and Youth Bicyclists Of Nevada County (YBONC) Foundation.

The bike park  currently has a pump track, a strider pump track, blue and green ride lines, and mountain bike skills area of 3 different height teeter-totters, above ground wooden trail, log feature, truck tire roll overs, etc.  No eBikes or  eBoards, skates, or remote control cars allowed. Strider bikes, BMX bikes, jump bikes, and mountain bikes allowed.

January 2026 is Phase 2 of Gateway Bike Park build for a start gate and dual slalom area, and flow trail area all nestled in native oak groves.

January - June of every 2nd Sunday is a volunteer work day at Gateway Bike Park, from 10am to 2pm.  (Rain forecast cancels a work day.)

Gateway Bike Park Phase 2 build and bike park maintenance is volunteer based year round.  Work is approved by WGR&PD board prior to scheduled volunteer work days, no free lancing work allowed due to risk and liability concerns.

A group of kids and an adult are actively working outdoors, using shovels and tools to build or repair a dirt structure.

We welcome donations to build Phase 2 and maintenance needs for a safe and fun cycling experience for all ages.
